Kevin Hutchinson
President & CEO, Prematics
Kevin is the current president and chief executive officer of Prematics, Inc., the leading e-prescribing and care communications service provider focused on improving care management and coordination by enabling real-time communications with physician practices. As a recognized expert and leader in health care information technology, Mr. Hutchinson was selected in 2009 to serve on the newly established federal Health Information Technology Standards Committee, advising President Barack Obama’s national coordinator for health IT, Dr. David Blumenthal, on the development and use of health information interoperability standards. Previously, from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Hutchinson served at the request of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Michael Leavitt as a commissioner and industry advisor to the secretary on the American Health Information Community, an HHS health information technology advisory body. Kevin currently serves on the board of the National eHealth Collaborative, a public-private partnership supporting the federal government’s effort to architect a Nationwide Health Information Network that will enable the secure exchange of patient health information across the country. He is also a member of the board of directors for an American Academy of Family Physicians company, TransforMED, which is focused on transforming the nation’s primary care practices into patient-centered medical homes. Mr. Hutchinson currently serves on numerous national advisory boards, including those of Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences, the eHealth Initiative, Markle Foundation Connecting for Health, the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, PharmMD and BridgeGate. Prior to joining Prematics, Mr. Hutchinson was the founding president and CEO of Surescripts from 2002 to 2008. He led the effort to build and deploy a national network for electronic prescribing and health information exchange. Under his leadership, the Surescripts network grew from an industry concept to the largest, most successful electronic prescribing network in the country. Today it is considered the nation’s backbone for pharmacy and pharmacy benefit manager interoperability, including the routing of electronic prescriptions, real-time eligibility checks and nationwide access to patient medication history information.
Gary Reiss
Chief Operating Officer, SUNRx
Gary currently serves as the chief operating officer of SUNRx, Inc., a provider of automated solutions for federally qualified health centers and disproportionate share hospitals for the administration of government 340B discount drug pricing programs. In this capacity he oversees daily operations, including product development. He has also held the chief operating officer position at several private and public health and medical information management companies during the past 18 years. He helped lead I‐trax, Inc. (DMX), a technology driven population health Management Company from 1999 to 2004. In 1998 Gary served as the Chief Operating Officer of EduNeering, Inc., an educational technology company, where his responsibilities included positioning EduNeering as a web provider and portal. From 1995 to 1998, Gary served as the Chief Operating Officer of Allscripts, Inc. (MDRX), a one billion dollar health care information and implementation publicly traded company, where he was responsible for all operations and implementations. And from 1992 to 1995, Gary was an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Physician Dispensing Systems, a company he founded and which was later acquired by Allscripts, Inc.
John Derr
Chief Technology Strategy Officer, Golden Living
John is the senior vice president and chief technology strategic officer of Golden Living, one of the largest providers of senior healthcare services in the country. Derr has more than 40 years of healthcare experience, with specialized background in technology and long-term care. He has held senior executive positions at major healthcare companies including Squibb, Searle, Siemens, MediSpan, Kyocera, and National Medical Enterprises. Before joining Golden Living, Derr was Executive Director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Care for the Elderly (FACE) in Washington, DC. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of the American Health Care Association (AHCA)/National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), which represents the majority of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the United States.
George Goldstein, Ph.D.
Former Health & Human Services Executive
Dr. Goldstein is a well-known expert in the healthcare industry for his deep knowledge about the delivery and payment of healthcare benefits. He was the former President and Chief Operations Officer of Molina Healthcare, Inc. and prior to that was the former CEO of United Health Care, Inc. for Southern California and Nevada. Dr. Goldstein currently advises many healthcare companies including Molina Healthcare, Inc., nHealth, Inc. and MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc.
David Tamayo, MBA
Director, Business Strategies & Sr. Market Consultant, MedImpact
As director of business strategies for MedImpact, David is responsible for developing and implementing effective and relevant strategies that address the requirements of MedImpact clients nationwide. David joined MedImpact in April 2004, and brings more than 10 years of healthcare expertise at the executive level in both the HMO and pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) environments. Prior to joining MedImpact, Mr. Tamayo served on the founding Director team of Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), and helped to build IEHP into a market leader in its geographic service area. David also worked closely with the California Department of Health Services as an active participant of the Agency’s Medi-Cal Work Group, which helped construct, and shape Medi-Cal (California State Medicaid) policies. He also served on the executive team of Object Innovation Inc. (now known as BridgeGate International), where he recognized the need for an innovation that made it easier and simpler to integrate and share information via a service oriented architecture (SOA) platform, and helped introduce it to the early adopters within the healthcare industry. David obtained his graduate degree in business (MBA) from the Drucker School of Management, Claremont Graduate University.
